Julia has been riding since she was 9. After her father passed away in 1993, she was asked if there was an activity she wanted to do. That March she started riding at Natalie Johnson's stables and soon had her own pony.
Riding was just as essential to Julia as breathing. She found private farms to ride horses at and working stables to hone her skills over the years. In her teens she rode thoroughbreds off the track that were restarting into a jumper program. In her 20's she started eventing and has never looked back.
Julia is based in Bensalem, Pa with 2 horses of her own. With various other privately owned horses in training. Julia continues to help maintain the stable, when she isn't riding, teaching, or training. Julia travels to clients at other facilities to begin or continue training as well. She has two children that she enjoys sharing her professional passion with. She is currently a riding instructor at Flying Colors Riding , while also running a day camp for children in the summer. When I adopted my OTTB right from the track I was told by others that he would never be a riding horse. He is far more than a riding horse now. He has competed and earned ribbons in shows, is used for lessons, and has become a barn favorite."

My daughter has been riding under Julia’s instruction for several years now. I am constantly amazed at how well Julia can read her ability to focus that day and keep her engaged and challenged. Not only is Julia great in lessons, she is amazing with the horses. I’ve seen her turn a horse from unrideable to competing. I call her the horse-whisperer because she has a connection with horses that can only come from the heart!
